Come and join us to Relive Georgian life in Olney as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Cowper & Newton story

Immerse yourself in the life and past times of the Georgians. Take a guided tour with William Cowper, see demonstrations of Georgian cookery, learn a Georgian dance and promenade like a Georgian. Have a go at traditional crafts and see local experts in action. A full day of fascinating demonstrations, informative talks, entertaining children’s activities and sweet refreshment. You’ll feel right at home with the Georgians.

  • Georgian Cookery demonstrations: salads, medicine & decorations  at 11.00, 1.00 & 2.00

The 18th century was a time of discovery and extravagance and especially within the kitchen! Come and meet our Georgian cook as she turns an ordinary dish into something spectacular, makes sure she has all the latest fashionable food colourings to hand, and how food can help with those who are feeling a little ‘under the weather’ or have over indulged.

  • Poetry Workshop –  help us be inspired to create poems to describe the day and maybe enter our poetry competition  –  12.00 & 1.30
