Heritage Lottery – We are delighted to announce that, with Milton Keynes Council support, we have been awarded Heritage Lottery Funding to achieve the following:

  • A new Georgian Life Room
  • Improved interpretation of our stories
  • Viper Barn – introductory film
  • Enhanced trails around the house
  • Improved lighting

If you have visited us recently you will have seen that changes are already afoot.

  • Our HLF grant has enabled us to refurbish the historic Viper Barn so that it will soon contain an audio-visual display.
  • We have new lighting and blinds throughout the museum, and
  • Our Project Manager, Carla Markland, is now turning her attention to the new-look Georgian Life room.

This project will:

  1. Ensure the long term sustainability of an important Georgian house museum with significant collections
  2. Engage existing and new audiences with our wonderful building, gardens and collections
  3. Improve interpretation, via new displays
  4. Add an introductory film in the restored Viper Barn, to increase intellectual and physical access to our stories.
  5. Extend our reach into the community through marketing and new partnerships
  6. Enjoy learning activities and volunteer development

……. all to increase visitor numbers and income, assuring the future of the museum.
