Garden Visitors

Group visits

Bookings for group visits are welcome by prior arrangement. We can offer groups an introductory talk on arrival in our courtyard. This gives you a brief history of the museum, William Cowper and John Newton.

We can also provide you with a guided tour of the museum and/or gardens.

In our experience groups prefer an initial talk then the chance to wander around the museum at their leisure.

Groups often find benefit in us providing refreshments again by arrangement. You can enjoy  looking around our beautiful historic walled garden and summer house vegetable garden.

(Please see our latest prices).

A visit can last from 90 minutes to 3 hrs depending upon the size and ability of your group. We are a Georgian town house consisting of 4 floors; these are broken up by flights of 6 steps and half landings. Each floor has plenty of chairs for visitors to sit on. Wheelchair access is to the ground floor only in the museum but unlimited around the gardens.

Schools

We welcome visits from school groups. Please see Educational Group Visits.

As we are a volunteer-run charity with no external funding it would be appreciated if the group leader could pay by cheque before the visit. A receipt will be given on the day. Alternatively; cash payment can be made on the day.

Please register your interest on the form below. It is best that you book at least two weeks in advance of your intended visit.  We value your enquiry.  If you do not hear from us within 2 days, please ring 01234 711516/ +441234711516 to book your visit with the House Manager.
