Water, water, everywhere: by Chris Richbell

We're delighted that local artist Chris Richbell is returning to the Three Hares Gallery with an exhibition of her latest works. Chris is a member and regular exhibitor with the Northampton Town and County Art Society and serves on their Council. She paints mainly in watercolour or acrylic, and sometimes with mixed media or pastels. As an artist, I am intrigued by many materials and techniques; this exhibition is an accumulation of some of my 2D work - I have included pencil/pen drawings, paintings and photographs. Felt is the oldest form of fabric known to humankind, predating weaving and knitting. In Turkey, the remains of felt have been found, dating back to at least 6,500 BC. This is a travelling exhibition which celebrates the skills of twenty-five local maker-artists working in wood, metal, ceramics, glass, mosaic and textiles and includes photographs by Brian Tomlinson.
