Open Gardens Weekend – National Garden Scheme

Our beautiful gardens, in the heart of Olney, will be open on Saturday and Sunday in aid of the National Garden Scheme. 10:30am – 4:30pmopen garden

Over the last 90 years, the NGS has raised over £50 million for nursing charities across the UK, thanks to the warm generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors.

Open gardenJoin us for Cowper and Newton Museum’s 20th consecutive year of opening, for which Elizabeth Knight was presented with an engraved trowel by Mary Berry, in March.  Support NGS on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th June.

See lace-making demonstrations and artists painting in the gardens.  Buy plants, and seeds harvested from our gardens.  Enjoy refreshments served in Cowper’s Courtyard.  Your entrance fee will be supporting wonderful nursing causes – thank you.



ENTRANCE TO THE GARDENS for NGS is £3 payable in the alleyway to the gardens for ALL adults (16+ yrs)/ free for children 0-15 yrs.

PLEASE NOTE:    ENTRANCE TO THE MUSEUM is by separate admission

  • Free for Annual Pass Holders
  • £3 for one-off visit to the Home of William Cowper.  Please show your NGS ticket in the Shop.
  • You can buy an Annual Pass as usual for £6.00 on the day, to enjoy visits to both the museum and gardens throughout the rest of the year.  PLEASE NOTE: On these two NGS days another additional garden admission of £3.00 still applies.
