Olney Open Gardens – Refreshments at the Cowper and Newton Museum
Sunday, July 3, 2016 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Olney Open Gardens
Olney Open Gardens will be providing homemade cakes and drinks from the courtyard of The Cowper and Newton Museum from 10:30am onwards. The attractive courtyard adjoins the museum gardens, which are open and included in the price of the ticket. The museum garden contains mainly plants available in this country before 1800, the year of the poet’s death. There is also a Victorian fruit and vegetable garden where many heritage seeds are grown.
Proceeds of Olney Open Gardens will go to The Friends of Cobbs Garden Surgery, this is a registered charity which works to raise money for the Olney surgery. They provide equipment and services to the surgery that are no longer made available under the NHS. The proceeds will be shared with The Kitchener Centre. This is a day care centre giving older people in Olney and the surrounding villages somewhere they can meet, have a meal and take part in social activities.
