Historical Guided Walk to William Cowper’s Alcove

‘The summit gained.  Behold the proud alcove crowns it!’

So wrote William Cowper in ‘The Task’ referring to the folly in the village of Weston Underwood,  where Cowper would rest on his walks and where he wrote many of his most famous poems whilst taking in the wonderful views of Olney and the surrounding countryside.

Meet at the Museum for 10.00 for a leisurely and fact filled historical guided walk though Olney to Weston Underwood, taking in the sights along the way.

Walk approx. 6 miles

Hot drinks and a slice of homemade cake to revive us at the Alcove.
