Georgian Garden Party

Monday, May 7, 2012

Bask in our glorious historic gardens, which are blossoming with eighteenth century flowers. Traditional garden games for the children to play include croquet, quoits and the coconut shy with prizes to be won! Children can also follow our trail around the garden to discover secret facts about this beautiful setting and plant their own seeds to take home! Indulge in some tea and cake served in the courtyard whilst watching a lace-making demonstration. From there, move inside the Museum to discover the history of ‘teatime’ and garden parties in the Georgian era and see how Cowper and Mrs Unwin would invite guests to tea. Children can dress up in Georgian clothing and have their own tea party!
