Bucks Open Studio
Bucks Open Studios is the largest visual arts event in the county. In June every year over 500 artists and makers, in over 200 different venues across Buckinghamshire, open their studios and run exhibitions and events for the public to visit.
This year, Bucks Open Studios runs from 11th to 26th June and we are delighted that our art exhibition space, the Three Hares Gallery, is participating.
We will be showing works by Graeme Roach of his drawings of Canadian Geese (see below) in his exhibition Park Life which runs from 1st to 25th June. For the past twenty five years Graeme has taught Art at secondary school level in Milton Keynes. His interest in drawing birds stemmed from a visit to Kew Gardens where one year a large flock of Canadian Geese had decided to take up residency. Seeing these birds in such numbers, their variety of poses and movement as well as and the manner in which they interacted with one another, provided the initial source of inspiration for many of the drawings in this exhibition. Initially Graeme began to make drawings to inform the development of small pieces of abstract sculpture. The drawing has now firmly established itself as the finished outcome.
Graeme’s exhibition runs from 1st to 25th June. Admission to the Gallery is free.
Also exhibiting with us is the artist Tania Groombridge who will be in the Museum Gardens/Courtyard on specific dates in June – see below for details.
Tania designs a bespoke range of fashion and home items, including silk scarves, ties, bow ties, along with a mixture of cotton, felt and woven items. All of the pieces are handmade and individual. The fabrics are coloured using a range of natural and man-made inks. Tania says she is inspired by colour, the brighter the better and she tries to use as much colour as possible in her work.
Come and see Tania in the Museum Gardens/Courtyard on:

Thursday 16th June
Saturday 18th June
