Archaeology Day

Have you ever found archaeological objects and wondered what they were? Ros Tyrrell, the Finds Liaison Officer of the Bucks Museum Resource Centre will be available to help identify your finds and possibly record them for the Portable Antiquities Scheme website (www.finds.org.uk).’  Metal detectorists from the Magiovinium Metal Detector Club will be displaying their thought-provoking archaeological finds.

  • See dinosaur bone fossils found in Clifton Reynes
  • Sort archaeological finds in materials they are made of (supports the primary school National Curriculum)
  • Learn about Quern stones, pudding stone and medieval fishing net weights
  • Make a Neolithic and Greek Coil pot in clay
  • Arts, crafts and a horseshoe hunt for the children!

Activities for children.  (£5 per adult/ children free/ £2 suggested donation towards craft activities).
